Position Description

Pulse8 is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join a dedicated team to implement Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Machine Learning (ML) technologies to increase the predictive capabilities of our current products.


This is a remote position.


As a Senior Software Engineer at Pulse8, you'll:

  • Design, implement, and train machine learning/deep learning architectures
  • Isolate pertinent healthcare prediction tasks and formulate experimental plans
  • Establish evaluation metrics, analyze performance, brainstorm future steps, perform exploratory data analysis and perform data visualization
  • Train and evaluate ML and NLP models for multi-label classification and regression problems
  • Improve runtime, scalability, and reliability of NLP/ML systems
  • Develop and enhance data platform and infrastructure to intake, clean, and structure multi-modal healthcare data
  • Design data acquisition and data labeling systems
  • Work closely with engineering team members to productionize best-performing models


Academic and Professional Qualifications:

  • B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Data Science, Analytics or related field



  • 4+ years Industry experience in NLP/ML
  • Track record of productionizing NLP/ML models
  • Strong understanding of machine learning and deep learning fundamentals
  • Fluency in Python and ML/NLP libraries (Scikit-Learn, SpaCy, Pytorch, Spark NLP)
  • Experience with databases and data structuring/warehousing
  • Experience with API development and integration

 Travel Requirements:

  • No to minimal travel
  • All Pulse8 employees attend two company summits per year in various locations.


Working arrangements:

  • Monday through Friday or as defined by assignment requirements
  • This is a remote/virtual position
