The primary purpose of this role is to Install, implement, configure, upgrade, and optimize the performance of application systems and databases required to operate Allscripts’ software Development and QA environments.


Establish, manage and maintain the Systems Development Environments, Upgrades, and Assigned Tasks that meet agreed functional requirements and customer expectations


  • Consistent efforts to deliver as per agreed scope and excel the deliveries from “completeness” and “correctness” point of view.
  • Customer focus and closer alignment with the customers’ business objectives
  • Ensure enough reviews have happened (Peer, Stakeholders) and all review comments have been closed / incorporated before delivery of any artifacts
  • Keep all stakeholders informed in a timely manner for scope creep and get their consensus
  • Ensure efforts to continually improve domain knowledge
  • Assess software, security, and Windows patches and create recommended patch list with logical explanation in terms of security and compliance
  • Coordinate with product owners and stakeholders on the approval of patches, establish deployment packages, collections, and schedules, as well as deploy patches
  • Configure enterprise patch systems as SCCM and WSUS and coordinate with Windows teams with configuring scripts and group policy objects
  • Analyze data from vulnerability management, prioritizing patches as well as establish mechanisms for backlog patching
  • Develop, plan, and deploy third party patches
  • Coordinate patch schedule with other teams such as patch deployment teams, remediation teams, product teams, security operations, and governance, risk, and compliance personnel
  • Develop and optimize pre- and post- patching process to ensure proper implementation without any outages
  • Score each patch based on risks and opportunity to prioritize, identify which patches are more valuable to the organization than others, ensure systems are fully patched, and remediation activities are performed
  • Assist in developing action plans, schedules, budgets, status and metrics reports as well as other management communications intended to improve and enterprise patch management program
  • Ensure best practice techniques are followed by ensuring patches are deployed first in a non-production environment prior to production
  • Develop and implement patch and vulnerability remediation process including package creation, testing and deployment
  • Follow change management procedures, ensure patch deployments are performed during patch windows, and work with teams in the event of major incidents
  • Develop continuous monitoring approach to regularly measure and report the status of patching, vulnerabilities, and hardening
  • Communicate project and operational metrics, evaluate data in spreadsheets, and develop presentations


Infrastructure System Development Environments, Upgrades, and Assigned Task delivered within estimates and according to agreed schedule/within Target Level of Agreement


  • Ensure every team member knows the schedule and plan
  • Consistent efforts for delivering as per agreed schedule / plan and excelling within that.
  • Keep all stakeholders informed in a timely manner about the slippages / delays and arrive with the plan to achieve the set goals on time


Infrastructure System Development Environments, Upgrades, and Assigned Task delivered with defined quality standards along with minimal amount of downtime disruptions, number of cases of poor analysis or design resulting into defects and re-work


  • Ensure the quality of the deliverables as per the defined defects standards and excelling within that
  • Identify the common causes of the defects, prioritize them and systematically remove them so that they do not reoccur in further development work
  • Efforts to reduce the overall defect injection rate (DIR)

  • Train, coach, and mentor junior team members
  • Provide leadership to the team.
  • Help recruitment to build organization with right talent
  • Document issues with resolutions and share with team members to improve team productivity
  • Provide data to generate team performance metrics
  • Knowledge transfer with other team members to improve overall team education level
  • Take complete ownership for the assigned task and timely inform the progress of the project / task to all stakeholders
  • Adherence to the defined global Infrastructure standards
  • Take initiative and drives to bring to logical conclusion; Proactive Approach
  • Provide accurate and timely information and escalates when there are issues
  • Actively participate in the project meetings and make valuable contribution



Academic and professional qualifications:

  • Successful completion of a Bachelor’s Degree or relevant technical experience


  • Must be able to create deployment patch package using SCCM and WSUS
  • Firm understanding of enterprise patch and vulnerability management
  • 5+ years' experience supporting diverse IT systems, processes, or capabilities
  • 5+ years of Information Technology Security, at least 3 with large enterprise organizations
  • Must have excellent competency with SCCM, WSUS, SCOM, logon scripts, and other patching tools
  • Understanding of Azure Update Manager is a plus
  • Proficiency in scripting of packaged installation of patches, software and configuration changes
  • Ability to resolve critical issues in a time sensitive manner, cognizant of requisite service levels
  • Ability to establish trust and confidence; customer service focus with a high level of professionalism
  • Demonstrable experience balancing multiple priorities simultaneously with the ability to adapt to changing needs while meeting deadlines
  • Critical attention to detail and solid creative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to consistently follow policies and procedures
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with all coworkers and stakeholders
  • Demonstrable time management skills and experience in meeting rigid and urgent assignment schedules

Travel requirements:

  • Depends upon the project/program needs

  • Work is performed in a standard office environment with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards
