    The primary purpose of the Systems Engineer/Database Administrator role is to provide database design, implementation & administration; data conversions, clinical & financial dashboards and reports for senior leaders, providers and research teams. The Expert Database Architect will be responsible for establishing the technical vision across the Clinical Integration Network and leading all aspects of Population Health technology development.

    Responsibilities

    • Possess expertise in the assigned technology domain
    • Design, manage, maintain, monitor and support the infrastructure environment in assigned technology domain
    • Direct others to install, configure and support hardware and software required to operate assigned technology
    • Provide ongoing maintenance including updates, patches and anti-virus updates
    • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in assigned technology including hardware, software, operating system and application-related issues
    • Conduct performance monitoring, system health checks, trending analysis and capacity planning
    • Provide 3rd level operational support for issues escalated from Service Desk
    • Develop and maintain documentation related to technology installation, administration and maintenance
    • Responsible for submitting the patient’s clinical data report to CMS web portal.
    • Responsible for conducting the DCCOHORT and submit the patient’s clinical data into DOH system.
    • Design and develop the common platform application for physician’s clinical score board system.
    • Work within a team environment to maintain and troubleshoot ETL and database systems.
    • Investigate enhancement requests and participate in identifying the appropriate alternatives and ideal solutions.
    • Play an active role in monitoring the overall performance and tuning the various performance bottlenecks.
    • Manage security issues concerning creating and administering roles, object and system privileges for users, user account creation, and maintenance.
    • Increase performance by eliminating contention factors like I/O, buffers, locks, and latches in the database.
    • Escalate the production issues to customers and/or provide feasible solutions to fix the issues.
    • Provides technical expertise in the areas of data, data analysis, and database modeling and technologies with a broad enterprise perspective.
    • Integrate disparate source data into an enterprise data warehouse, create data marts for end user
    • reporting, and provide data for application use.
    • Develop front end applications for accessing data warehouses and repositories (SSRS, Power BI)
    • Design tools to assist in the management of the database and transaction processing environment
    • Develop a methodology for the ongoing assessment of database performance and the identification of problem areas.
    • Maintains state-of-the-art knowledge of existing best practices in database administration, design, and implementation and capacity planning.

    Qualifications

    Academic and Professional Qualifications:

    • BS degree in Information Science/Computer Science/Software Engineering/Business preferred

     

    Experience:

    • 7+ years senior level experience providing systems engineering in assigned product and other related technologies, recognized as the most senior expert in this subject area within the organization
    • Experience across servers and network infrastructure required
    • Windows Server, Active Directory and Networking protocols required
    • Excellent client facing skills with the ability to thrive in a highly critical, fast paced environment
    • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills required

     

    Travel Requirements:

    •  May require local travel
    •  May require other travel for business needs

     

    Working Arrangements:

    • May require after hours on call support
    • Work is performed in a standard office environment with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards
