    The primary purpose of this role is to provide leadership for procurement staff members and some key strategic commodities and/or services. Responsible for optimizing overall supply chain activity.

    Responsibilities

    • Ensures organizational compliance with policies and procedures
    • Implements sourcing/procurement strategies to support corporate objectives and the organization's need for a diverse and globally competitive supply base
    • Supports buyers in development and execution of comprehensive Buyer Business Plans that outline strategies and specific actions to deliver the objectives
    • Implements and ensures compliance with all relevant Procurement Policies and Procedures
    • Works closely with team members to scope and complete projects in a timely manner
    • Manages special internal purchasing projects
    • Aligns purchasing process and customer/client Statement of Work to maximize customer value
    • Provides purchasing input to suppliers and customers in order to effectively manage contracts
    • Manages and maintains supplier relationships, support pre and post-tender negotiations
    • Establishes and maintains effective relationships with cross functional team members
    • Manages supplier cost, quality, and delivery performance
    • Manages spend on a global level, as necessary
    • Provides monthly or quarterly functional reporting, as required
    • Provides customers with counsel and assistance with procurement policies and processes
    • Identifies and recruits internal/external talents to ensure effective mix of competencies
    • Inducts new joiners in order to quickly maximize performance
    • Sets and communicates team/individual objectives and KPIs to inspire individuals to achieve high performance
    • Allocates work load to fully utilize every employee’s talent
    • Implements development plans and coaches individuals to reach their maximum talent
    • Provides regular constructive feedback on performance/development and addresses poor/mediocre performance on a timely manner
    • Recognizes high performers to maintain motivation and retain key talent
    • Regularly communicates on company news and team progress against business plan
    • Creates team spirit

    Qualifications

    Academic and professional qualifications:

    • Bachelor Degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain or equivalent
    • Masters / MBA preferred

    Experience:

    • 10+ years of progressive procurement/supply chain experience
    • Strong knowledge of procurement principles, theories and processes
    • Experience leading cross functional business teams
    • Strong negotiating skills with demonstrated experience leading complex supplier negotiations
    • Significant contracting experience
    • Significant experience with Purchasing Systems and Windows applications
    • Excellent research skills, analytical skills and critical thinking ability
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Excellent employee coaching and developing skills

    Travel requirements:

    • Less than 25% travel

    Working arrangements:

    • Working arrangements are normal for an office environment
    • Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work
