    Our team provides next-generation warehousing and analytics software for massive, heterogeneous healthcare data assets. As a backend engineer, you will work on a small team that develops and delivers an innovative Software as a Service platform, providing data analytics capabilities across large, diverse healthcare data sources. The successful candidate will possess a mix of general software engineering skills and best practices along with experience building and maintaining scalable data pipelines.     This position is office based and has the option of being located in Harrisburg, PA, Malvern, PA, or San Francisco, CA.


    • Test web-applications and components (UI, REST API, database, etc.) across a range of public and private facing resources located on internal and cloud-based machines.
    • Write and update integration and end-to-end tests with Python using nose test framework.
    • Write and update automated regression suites.
    • Test cross-browser compatibility of UI components.
    • Identify areas for improving test performance to speed up developer workflows as well as build and deployment times.
    • Use issue-tracking tools such as JIRA to write effective bug reports.
    • Collaborate with a cross-functional team.


    Academic and Professional Qualifications:

    • BS degree (MS preferred) in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience.



    • Experience with Python both in terms of reviewing code for functionality and bugs as well as a testing and automation tool.
    • 1-3 years of experience as a software QA engineer.
    • Proficient with Agile/Scrum development techniques.
    • Familiar with best practices in testing, ideally in a SaaS environment.
    • Competency with SQL databases (PostgreSQL, Redshift, MySQL, or similar).
    • Experience with one or more of the following desired:
      • Testing of RESTful APIs including load testing with tools like JMeter.
      • UI testing using tools like Selenium WebDriver.
      • Experience testing/deploying applications on Amazon Web Services or similar IaaS providers.
      • Familiarity with OWASP standards.
      • Broad understanding of internet protocols.
      • Experience with UNIX/Linux environments.
      • Validated software testing in a regulated environment for the life sciences / pharmaceutical industry.
