    The Senior Report Developer will be coding stored procedures, functions and reports that meet project and customer requirements for the Sunrise application. This individual will be responsible for evaluating data for reporting and analyzing complex technical specs for reports and data extracts. The senior developer will be responsible for fostering effective teamwork and collaboration.


    • Responsible for developing stored procedures and reports that meet customer requirements
    • Suggesting and implementing procedural enhancements and code optimizations
    • Act as lead developer on projects and work closely with project management team
    • Lead the team by coaching and mentoring staff
    • Providing peer review support to work produced by others, confirming use of relevant coding standards; approving work produced by others
    • Responsible for documentation configuration management
    • Pro-actively understanding changes to project scope, identify risks
    • Implementing code and reports in line with established plans and standards for the product
    • Liaising with architects, business analysts, developers and testing teams for content input and document reviews to ensure that product functionality is well documented.
    • Work with clinical analysts, clinicians, and informatics staff to understand and document business requirements for building reports
    • Make prompt, technically sound decisions and recommendations that add value to business priorities and needs
    • Assist Quality Assurance team with validating reports
    • Escalating issues in a timely manner and suggesting improvements
    • Understanding of relational databases and data analysis, extracts, and reporting is required
    • Provide on-call support on rotating basis for Production report related issues
    • Provide on-site support during activation.
    • Maintains awareness of report writing trends in the industry to suggest and help implement relevant enhancements.
    • Participates, as, needed, in other data management and software development needs
    • As time permits, participating in customer and industry forums as a guest speaker or discussion leader on documentation topics that leverage the employee’s domain or tools expertise.


    • Microsoft SQL experience required
    • Experience with report writing tools (MS Visual Studio, MS SQL Server, MS SQL Reporting Services, SQL Server Integration Services, etc.)
    • Understanding of relational databases concepts
    • Demonstrating knowledge of Project Life cycle
    • Strong time management skills and the ability to multi-task
    • Strong analytical and documentation skills
    • Strong communication skills
    • Team player
    • Ability to ask probing questions to determine the desired outcomes for report requests
    • Healthcare background a plus
    • Knowledge of Allscripts Sunrise Clinical Manager application a plus
    • Microsoft Office experience




    Academic and Professional Qualifications:

    •  BA or BS degree preferred and/or other relevant combination of training and experience.



    •  2 years Industry experience preferred
    •  4-8 years experience; preferred for the healthcare setting


    Travel Requirements:

    •  May require local travel
    •  May require other travel for business needs


    Working Arrangements:

    • May require after hours on call support
    • Work is performed in a standard office environment with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards
