    The primary purpose of this role is to configure, design, develop, maintain, optimize and tune availability and performance of overall application systems, infrastructure, and databases required to operate Allscripts' software environments including production, development, and Q&A.

    Responsibilities

    Establish, maintain, and implement guidelines and best practices for the Allscripts' software and infrastructure environments that meet agreed functional requirements and exceed customer expectations:

     

    • Technology thought leadership for performance management across a highly complex infrastructure and dynamic multi-vendor supported landscape
    • Develop, publish, and implement performance management standards
    • Deliver operational and financial efficiencies through the use of standardized KPIs collections and analysis
    • Thought leadership for design, implementation and utilization of performance management tools
    • Establish performance thresholds of monitored application and infrastructure to proactively notify operational teams to take action
    • Keep all stakeholders informed in a timely manner and get their consensus
    • Utilizing performance and capacity management ITIL best practices to establish repeatable processes
    • Lead problem management ITIL best practices to scale performance findings to all customer environments
    • Consistent efforts to deliver projects and activities as per agreed scope and timelines including "completeness" and "correctness" of artifacts
    • Customer focus and close alignment with the customers business objectives
    • Ensure reviews have happened (Peer, Stakeholders) and all review comments have been closed / incorporated before delivery of any artifacts
    • Mentor and develop junior members of the team to facilitate scaling knowledge in a 24x7 environment
    • Promote and lead efforts to continually improve domain knowledge individually and across the team
    • Provide guidance to support staff to ensure technical issues are resolved quickly
    • Partner with software development organizations to bridge infrastructure and application performance scenarios
    • Ensure the quality of the deliverables as per the defined defects standards

     

    Contribution towards the team synergy / influence team to achieve goals

     

    • Train, coach, and mentor junior team members.
    • Provide leadership to the team.
    • Help recruitment to build organization with right talent.
    • Document issues with resolutions and share with team members to improve team productivity.
    • Provide data to generate team performance metrics.
    • Knowledge transfer with other team members to improve overall team education level.
    • Take complete ownership for the assigned task and timely inform the progress of the project / task to all stakeholders.
    • Adherence to the defined global Infrastructure standards.
    • Take initiative and drives to bring to logical conclusion; Proactive Approach.
    • Provide accurate and timely information and escalates when there are issues.
    • Actively participate in the project meetings and make valuable contribution.
    • Identify and recruit internal/external talents to ensure effective mix of competencies.
    • Implement development plans and coach for individuals to reach their maximum talent.
    • Provide regular constructive feedback on performance/development and address poor/mediocre performance on a timely manner.
    • Recognize high performers to maintain motivation and retain key talent.
    • Regularly communicate on company news and team progress against business plan.
    • Create team spirit.

     

    Qualifications

    Academic and Professional Qualifications:

    • Successful completion of a Bachelor’s Degree or relevant technical experience.
    • Post graduation qualifications or technical certifications preferred. 

     

    Experience:

    • Typically requires 14+ years of experience in technology areas
    • 6 or more years of relevant IT experience such as performance engineering or application monitoring
    • Experience with IT technologies such as virtualization, storage, network, database, and application stacks
    • Experience with public and hybrid cloud technologies (Azure, AWS, VMWare)
    • Experience with Open Source technologies and big data platforms
    • Experience in programming or scripting languages such as .Net, Java, python, perl, javascript
    • Experience with monitoring solutions such as LogicMonitor, Cisco Application Dynamics, and TICK stack
    • Experience with cloud based monitoring solutions such as Azure Application Insights
    • Experience with infrastructure monitoring and configuration tools such as VMWare vCenter
    • ITIL Certification

     

    Travel Requirements:

    • Depends upon the project/program needs.

     

    Working Arrangements:

    • Hours required to complete projects/assignments
    • Work is performed in a standard office environment with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards
