    The primary purpose of the Sr Clinical Business Analyst role is to provide workflow analysis, design & build and technical support on Sunrise Clinical Manager products and work closely with other analysts supporting clinical applications used throughout Liberty Hospital in Liberty, MO. The Sr Clinical Business Analyst will be responsible for project based work, team lead activities and training/mentoring.


    • Provides leadership to the Clinical Application Services associates, working with the Manager of Application Services to advise regarding new hires, education, workflow and responsibilities.
    • Suggests needed training for Clinical IT Staff as well as provide training in specific areas as identified.
    • Processes tickets, change control, calls/requests to determine feasibility and work effort. Utilizes CA Service Desk to enter, review, assign and review metrics on requests and incidents.
    • Assigns tickets and tasks to the Application Services team as well as the Global team as appropriate.
    • Leads or provides guidance for process flow, current state, future state, etc. meetings with Liberty departments. This will include working with the Project Manager on major projects to determine workflow and process.
    • As part of the clinical team, supports end users in project implementations and as needed during daily operations. Takes part of call rotation.
    • Assists the Application Services manager with the prioritization of tasks and projects as they affect the clinical arena.
    • Works with the Project Manager and Manager to lead clinical projects.
    • Keeps up to date on new functionality within SCM and other clinical Allscripts applications i.e. SSC, iPro, KBMA, ED Manager, to suggest and lead optimization efforts as well as help define the vision for IT.
    • Understands the use of metrics and queries within SCM to follow and report progress as well as gain information for troubleshooting and review.
    • Helps Application services staff with focus, time management and understanding of role of analyst.
    • Takes the management role in the Application Services department in the Manager’s absence.
    • Gains understanding and provides direction for structure and maintenance of the application platforms.

    These are consistent accountabilities for all staff.

    • Assist in supporting activations and rollouts.
    • Consistent efforts to deliver quality solutions as per agreed scope.
    • Customer focus and close alignment with the customers’ business objectives.
    • Ensure efforts to continually improve domain knowledge.
    • Ensure the quality of the deliverables as per the defined defects standards
    • Document issues with resolutions and share with team members to improve team productivity.
    • Provide data to generate team performance metrics.
    • Knowledge transfer with other team members to improve overall team education level
    • Take complete ownership for the assigned task and timely inform the progress of the project / task to all stakeholders.
    • Adherence to the defined standards.
    • Take initiative and drives to bring to logical conclusion; proactive approach.
    • Provide accurate and timely information and escalates when there are issues.
    • Actively participate in meetings and make valuable contribution.


    Academic and Professional Qualifications:

    • BA or BS degree preferred and/or other relevant combination of training and experience.
    • Clinical Degree, Certification and/or License required



    • 2-5 years Health IT industry experience preferred
    • 5-10 years practical experience in providing business process and functional support for clinical applications required from a healthcare background required
    • Appropriate healthcare background
    • Excellent client facing skills, self-directed and the ability to thrive in a highly critical, fast paced environment.


    Travel Requirements:

    •  May require local travel
    •  May require other travel for business needs


    Working Arrangements:

    • May require after hours on call support
    • Work is performed in a standard office environment with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards
