    The primary purpose of this role is to organize and facilitate backlog planning, daily stand-up meetings, reviews, retrospectives, iteration and release planning, demos and other Agile-related meetings



    Support the Agile process:

    • Organize and facilitate backlog planning, daily stand-up meetings, reviews, retrospectives, iteration and release planning, demos and other Agile-related meetings
    • Track and communicate team velocity, iteration/release progress, impediments
    • Maintain process documentation as needed
    • Ensure the development teams are practicing the core agile principles of collaboration, prioritization, team accountability, and visibility

     Support the Product Owner:

    • Assist as needed with backlog maintenance
    • Coach Product Owners in best practice of writing user stories and epics
    • Assist with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information
    • Facilitate prioritization and resolution of defects/bugs

     Support the Product Team:

    • Assist team with making appropriate commitments through story selection, task definition
    • Participate proactively in developing and maintaining team standards, tools, and best practices
    • Identify and remove impediments, prevent distractions
    • Facilitate discussion and conflict resolution
    • Empower the team to self-organize


    Other Responsibilites:

    • Ensure adherence to common processes, such as the Product LifeCycle Management (PLM) process, and the Software Development LifeCycle (SDLC).
    • Identify and escalate critical issues in timely manner.
    • Ensure teams are taking corrective action as necessary to deliver complete scope, desired quality and timeliness of strategic programs.
    • Keep team apprised via project plans, meetings and discussion minutes of project tasks identified, tasks to be completed, and work not completed.
    • Raise concerns timely to leadership regarding mismatch on required project team member's competencies
    • Allocate work load to fully utilize every program team member's talent


    Academic and professional qualifications:

    • Successful completion of Bachelor's degree or relevant business / information technology experience.
    • PMP Certification desired, SCM required .
    • Demonstrable project management skills, including influencing, communications and tracking skills, and planning and organization.
    • Solid knowledge of project management methodologies, tools & techniques.
    • Strong ability to collaborate with individual contributors to define business process issues, analyze operational efficiencies, implement creative solutions, and measure delivery results.


    • 4 plus years project management experience in software development, with 2+ years of scrum master experience
    • Experience coaching teams in the early phase of an agile roll out
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work with diverse personality types
    • Thorough understanding of agile software development methodologies, values, and procedures
    • Thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle
    • Must be 'self-motivated' as well as creative and efficient in proposing solutions to complex, time-critical problems
    • Ability to deal with multiple projects and deadlines
    • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with a high attention to detail

    Travel requirements:

    • Ability to travel occasionally as warranted by project work; frequency will vary depending on project requirements

    Working arrangements:

    • Work is performed in a normal office setting with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards; substantial time is spent working on a computer, having meetings and on conference calls.
