    The primary purpose of this role is to manage a security program for multiple business units to ensure information assets and technologies are adequately protected. They will provide all facets of the security strategy and execution for a given program.

    Responsibilities

    • Manages the design, development, implementation, and operations of all security technologies for one or more business unit's information security functions
    • Serves as the BU's SME to identify security risks, then recommend alignment of security technology investment and resource management strategies align with organizational risks
    • Justifies proposed security investments are designed to counter emerging threats, and are aligned to work seamlessly with Allscripts product and operational architectures.
    • Consults with various departments on security systems, operational impacts of controls, internal - external communications, and other initiatives.
    • Researches, recommends, acquires and implements vendor provided solutions/tools in line with Allscripts’ tactical and strategic goals
    • Performs all aspects of project management, scheduling & prioritizing activities, staffing, technical design and technical review to ensure key milestones are met and successful completion of security projects is achieved.
    • Responsible for the establishment and adherence of standards and methods for developing and deploying security applications across the supported business units
    • Defines an application or infrastructure architecture and framework for deploying and developing business applications.
    • Main point of contact for customer requests and proactive involvement in solving business problems with technology solutions.
    • Support the functions with economic justifications of build vs. buy decisions for application deployment.
    • Keeps informed of new developments and trends; makes recommendations to senior management on desirable additions or replacements.
    • Assists department managers in selection and setup of applications for their usage.
    • Directs the personnel activities of IS team members covering development, feedback, and mentoring.
    • Assists subordinate managers in assessment and training of personnel.
    • Works through managers in setting and implementing standards, priorities, and schedules.
    • Responsible for interpreting privacy and security regulatory guidelines for US and international agents and guiding the organization on implementation for meeting.
    • Communicate in a concise and effective manner changes to be implemented to the organization.
    • Main point of contact for incident management, incident response management, triage and reporting.
    • Facilitates a privacy framework in accordance with regulatory standards.
    • Identify and recruit internal/external talents to ensure effective mix of competencies.
    • Induct new joiners in order to quickly maximize performance.
    • Set and communicate team/individual objectives and KPI to inspire individuals to achieve high performance.
    • Allocate work load to fully utilize every employee’s talent.
    • Implement development plans and coach for individuals to reach their maximum talent.
    • Provide regular constructive feedback on performance/development and address poor/mediocre performance on a timely manner.
    • Recognize high performers to maintain motivation and retain key talent.
    • Regularly communicate on company news and team progress against business plan.
    • Create team spirit.
    • Communicate effectively to all audiences using discretion for all privacy and security matters

    Qualifications

    Academic and Professional Qualifications:

    •  B.S. in Computer Related field of study highly preferred
    •  Master’s or PhD in Computer Related field is desirable

     

    Experience:

    • 10+ years
    •  4+ years in a comparable security role
    • Need to have strong understanding of IT security, preferably in a healthcare environment.
    • HIPAA regulations knowledge a strong plus
    • Should also understand the business side of the equation

     

    Certifications:

    • CISSP, CISA or CISM preferred

     

    Travel Requirements:

    •  Travel up to 10%, mostly to other Allscrips offices

     

    Working Arrangements:

    • Work is performed in a standard office environment with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards
