    The primary purpose of this role is management of applications support functions of a Managed Services account.

    This position is responsible for managing several application teams for the Inpatient EMR service line, including resource management, application standards and guidelines, strategic planning, solution design and specifications, testing methodology, and other project deliverables. In addition the person will identify and evaluate requests for all new development to ensure standards are met. Manage teams to meet operational and project SLA’s.

    Responsibilities

    • Manage multiple teams of system analysts,
    • Oversee technical work to ensure all application features are functioning properly and meet functional and clinical requirements.
    • Oversee new workflow and feature design, specifications, and testing processes and procedures to meet NSLIJ Enterprise design standards and principles.
    • Analyze and estimate work effort based on technical and user requirements and perform resource capacity planning for teams.
    • Manage end-to-end development process of application solutions from requirements gathering to final production implementation, working with other internal IT teams, corporate staff, and outside vendors.
    • Mentor staff and support staff’s professional development.
    • Interact with senior Allscripts and Health System leaders, recommend, plan and implement application solutions.
    • Actively participates in project governance committees to understand business requirements & lend expertise to design and development
    • Ensure team compliance with all operational and administrative responsibilities, including timesheets, documentation, SLA’s for incident resolution,
    • Participate in weekly Manager 24/7 on-call rotation.
    • Support new activations on a 24/7 basis.

     

     

    • Provide effective and efficient applications support IT services which meet the needs and requirements of client hospital/health system.
    • Assists in account profitability to meet revenue and margin requirements set at the corporate level
    • Effective management of the client relationship and resolution of client issues.
    • Continuous risk identification and appropriate escalation.
    • Effective utilization and management of staff such that milestones/goals are obtained and staff is motivated and competent.
    • Understands application and technical functionality and capabilities to effectively provide solutions for business requirements.
    • Balances demand management for multiple complex simultaneous projects, operational enhancements, break-fix, and maintenance requests.
    • Provides strategic guidance for planning projects and operational support for health system initiatives.
    • Ensure team adherence to all team, account, and client policies and procedures.
    • Support needs across a complex healthcare setting.
    • Manages complex implementations and post implementation optimization across hospital/heath system network.
    • Scopes projects, develop budgets and assess cost of ownership
    • Effectively translate business requirements to technical specicfiations / IT requirements.
    • Develops strategy and resource plans to anticipate demand for implementation services and workforce needs.
    • Research and recommends new technologies to streamline processes supporting improved care and reducing costs
    • Develops and implements policies and practices for client installations.

    Qualifications

    Academic and Professional Qualifications:

    •  BA or BS Degree, and/or relevant business experience

     

    Experience:

    •  7-10 years industry experience preferred
    •  5-10 years experience in information technology management preferred
    • Prior SCM experience preferred.
    • Experience with application and interface testing processes.

    • Proficiency with window applications and database concepts

    • Strong analytical and troubleshooting (problem determination/resolution) skills

    • Strong planning and design skills

    • Strong oral and written communication skill

    • Strong time management and personal organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize and multi-task

    • Proficiency in Microsoft office applications (Excel, Word, Access, Project, etc).

    • Experience in healthcare technologies

    • Healthcare IT or prior clinical experience preferred

     

    Travel Requirements:

    •  May require local travel
    •  May require other travel for business needs

     

    Working Arrangements:

    • May require on call after hours support
    • Work is performed in a standard office environment with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards
