    The Senior Accountant will be responsible for analysis and accounting of complex business transactions under the supervision of the technical associate manager. The Senior Accountant will review contracts and apply appropriate U.S. GAAP guidance and company policies to determine appropriate accounting treatment and document accounting conclusions. The Senior Accountant will also oversee and assist with recording journal entries in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company policies, including operational and SOX controls.  This position offers opportunities to interact regularly with senior and executive management and work on strategic business transactions.



      • Perform timely review and documentation of complex business transactions, including investments in 3rd party debt or equity instruments and reseller or licensing agreements, under the guidance of management
      • Partner with FP&A, Business Development, and various Accounting teams to ensure that new transactions and changes to past transactions are accounted for appropriately
      • Assist in providing pre-contract guidance regarding the effect of proposed transactions on the company’s financial statements and SEC reporting disclosures
      • Expected to possess working knowledge of U.S. GAAP related to investments and consolidations, including marketable securities, cost-method accounting, equity-method accounting, the Variable Interest Model, and the Voting Model
      • Ensure compliance with SOX controls and improve/streamline controls where necessary
      • Ensure journal entries are accurately prepared, well documented/supported, and consistent with documented guidance and polices
      • Review and reconcile intercompany transactions with consolidated investees and record eliminations as necessary
      • Partner with management of consolidated investees to obtain necessary data for consolidation and SEC reporting
      • Assist in performing and documenting quarterly assessment of recoverability of 3rd party investments, including a thorough qualitative and quantitative analysis of facts and circumstances
      • Assist in performing and documenting quarterly assessment of valuation of warrants/options and other derivative contracts held/entered into by the company, and related accounting implications
      • Identify and implement process and system improvements within the investments and consolidations process to improve timeliness of results and adhere to monthly close calendars
      • Support quarterly and annual audit requirements for our external auditors
      • Monitor FASB and SEC announcements for proposed and actual changes to U.S. GAAP and work with GL team leadership to implement new guidance as necessary
      • Research technical accounting issues as needed
      • Assist with special projects as needed



    Academic and Professional Qualifications:

      • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
      • CPA preferred
      • Strong U.S. GAAP and SEC regulation research skills


      • 4-7 Years Accounting Experience, preferably in public accounting or in a publicly traded multi-national company with at least $250M in annual revenues within software or technology industry
      • Experience with Oracle or similar ERP/general ledger systems is strongly preferred


      • Strong analytical and technical skills
      • Excellent Excel and PC skills
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
      • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with different individuals/functions across the organization
      • Excellent time and project management skills with ability to prioritize among competing objectives and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, challenging environment

    Travel Requirements:

      • Travel is 10% or less in the event a short trip is required to visit a consolidated investee location

    Working Arrangements:

      • Work is performed in a standard office environment with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards
