Responsibilities

  • Work in a large health system supporting the Cerner Soarian Billing system which is a multi-hospital environment, as part of the Project Access initiative.
  • Responsible for working with the Patient Accounting business community, interpreting their business requirements within a multi-site Technical Billing environment, always ensuring the final product meets client expectations.
  • Will have direct interaction with the IS staff, Patient Accounting leadership and Patient Accounting staff.
  • Act as an IS Liaison to the Patient Accounting dept. at Northwell Health
  • Responsible for building the Soarian Billing Profiles needed to generate Hospital Patient Bills and Remittances.
  • Responsible for working in an integrated manner between Soarian, the Optum360 Patient Accounting tools & Billing Clearing houses.
  • Build Specifications and Working documentation for all billing system profiles.
  • Will need to work closely with the Northwell Health (TCoE) Application Testing team and the multiple test environments as required for all new project based application upgrades, and enhancements.
  • Provide data to generate team performance metrics.
  • Take complete ownership for the assigned task and timely inform the progress of the project / task to all stakeholders.
  • Adherence to the defined standards.
  • Take initiative and drives to bring to logical conclusion; proactive approach.
  • Provide accurate and timely information and escalates when there are issues.
  • Actively participate in meetings and make valuable contribution.
  • Provide production support for application issues.
  • Identify, coordinate and communicate issues, requirements and status related to application functionality with other team members and software vendors.
  • Ensure the quality of the deliverables as per the defined defects standards and excelling within that.
  • Must be able to assist with the testing of routine billing system or regulatory upgrades.

Qualifications

Academic and Professional Qualifications:

  • BA or BS degree preferred or other relevant combination of training and experience.

 

Experience:

  •  Up to 2 years entry level to moderate experience in providing technical support and maintenance in assigned product preferred
  • Demonstrate strong communication and presentation skills with significant direct interface with clients at all levels within the organization.
  • Must be able to demonstrate problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Access, Excel, Visio and Power Point and Outlook.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

 

Travel Requirements:

  •  May require local travel
  •  May require other travel for business needs

 

Working Arrangements:

  • May require after hours on call support
  • Will require 24x7 on-call rotation
  • Work is performed in a standard office environment with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards
