In partnership with the Dalhousie University Health Informatics Masters Program, University Relations is recruiting for a Healthcare Analytics Intern for the following Allscripts office location(s): Richmond, B.C.  Length: 12 – 13 weeks (project based).

Responsibilities

This intern will be working on medication management requirements/specifications for Canada. One project will include being responsible for clinical process including ordering medication through to administration of medication. Another project will include handling the pharmacy operations requirements and work-flows. This will include understanding the pharmacy's need to dispense & manage inventory. 

 

At the end of the internship program, the intern will be required to create a requirements document, gap analysis & give a formal presentation with recommendations. 

Qualifications

Academic and Professional Qualifications:

  • Must be a current student at  Dalhousie University Student in the Healthcare IT Master Program (Internship Track)
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA or higher

 

Experience: 

  • Preferred experience with Management Consulting/ Corporate Development/ Corporate Finance
  • Background in Healthcare and/or Information Technology 
  • Effective communicator, written and verbal for executive audiences
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Team oriented
  • Good problem solving skills
  • Highly self-motivated
  • Willing to take initiative and work with minimal supervision

 

Working Arrangements:

  • Work is performed in a standard office environment with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards
  • Intern must relocate to Richmond, BC for this summer internship opportunity
