The University Relations team is looking for a User Experience Design intern to work for 10-12 weeks over Summer 2018 out of our Raleigh, NC office. 


The User Experience team is engaged in providing research and data-driven design to improve user and patient experiences through the creation of patterns and practices, embedded engagements with our product teams, and leading the way in creativity and innovation. We work on projects that empower patients to be active managers of their health and share this data with clinicians. Underlying these efforts is the application of a rigorous User-Centered Design process that puts our users (of all types) first and leverages human factors, cognitive psychology, and design best practices.


As a User Experience Design intern, you will create graphic resources for Allscripts interfaces, build concepts and detailed design specifications such as wireframes, prototypes, and user flows, and participate in usability research. You will get first-hand experience and gain valuable insight as to how interactive projects are designed, developed, and launched. Candidates must be creative problem solvers, innovative designers, and passionate user advocates.




Academic and Professional Qualifications:

  • On track for a Bachelor's degree in visual design disciplines, interactive design, human-computer interaction, or other similar degrees
  • 3.0+ GPA preferred  



  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and MS Office
  • Experience with prototyping tools and/or web design is a plus but not required

  • Candidate must be able to provide a portfolio for review
