The primary purpose of this role is to provide first line of support assistance to employees experiencing problems with IS supported software and hardware.


  1. Reports project activity and status (verbally and in writing) in a timely manner to management.
  2. Installs and maintains various workstations /network and/or telecommunications equipment such as workstations, laptops, cables, wireless access points and other related components.
  3. Assists in the maintenance of equipment and/or spare parts inventories and/or develops procedures and documentation for equipment and systems.
  4. May evaluate and/or recommend hardware or software as needed.
  5. Assists with procurement process for IT-related equipment, maintain appropriate hardware inventory of items such as keyboard, mice, monitors tablets, and manages RMA process as needed.
  6. Maintains accurate and up-to-date procedures for troubleshooting, standardized installation of a variety of workstation operating systems and desktop applications.
  7. Will be part of an on-call rotation supporting a 7/24 hospital environment and must be able to work flexible hours as needed.
  8. Adheres to all Allscripts and customer policies, standards and best practices.
  9. May be assigned other tasks as needed to meet the needs of Allscripts and the customer.


Academic and Professional Qualifications:

  •  BA or BS degree preferred or other relevant combination of training and experience.



  •  2-4 years experience in an desktop support environment preferred.


Travel Requirements:

  •  May require local travel
  •  May require other travel for business needs


Working Arrangements:

  • May be required to work off hour shifts or be assigned to an on-call rotation.

  • 24/7 Support
  • Work is performed in a standard office environment with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards
