The QA Test Lead will be responsible for QA initiatives through the full project lifecycle starting with business requirement development continuing through deployment.

Responsibilities

  • QA Test Lead, responsible for testing and delivering quality products in an assigned service line.
  • Lead QA initiatives including oversight for cross-functional QA team members contributing to the testing effort in a hands-on role;
  • Collaborate with the QA Manager to evaluate and enhance QA standards, technologies and process for monitoring “Best Practices”.
  • Review vendor provided documentation and user manuals to obtain functional and technical knowledge of assigned application technology.
  • Responsible for the creation and on-going maintenance of the Master Test Plan for the program.
  • Analyzes, defines and documents testing requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, hardware and operating system environment, interfaces with other systems, controls, and outputs.
  • Contributes to the QA estimation and budgeting process for program test initiatives.
  • Designs testing framework including scope, tools, data and methodologies to apply for highly complex and broad application systems. 
  • Creates system, integration, end to end, and regression test sets for new application functionality, product releases, enhancements, and regulatory modifications using business scenarios and use cases.
  • Document defects and assist with classification, tracking, retesting, and resolution as required
  • Synthesize test results information to determine software quality trends.
  • Generate test metrics and measures of quality in order to track, assess and report on program adherence.
  • Serve as liaison role between application technology vendors, internal IT groups, and business users.
  • Act as a strong advocate for quality in the product development process.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Academic and Professional Qualifications:

  •  BA or BS degree preferred and/or other relevant combination of training and experience.

 

Experience:

 

  • 5 plus years of Software Quality Assurance experience
  • 2-5 years industry experience preferred
  • QA Certification a plus
  • In-depth knowledge and experience with testing strategy and quality throughout the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC). 
  • Expert at QA methodologies, tools and approaches (black box, white box and automated testing experience).
  • Excellent leadership and coordination skills.
  • Consultative management and communications styles;
  • Ability to communicate effectively with QA professionals, Programmer Analysts, Managers and Business partners. 
  • Experience leading QA teams on initiatives of at least 3 people.
  • Ability to give presentations easily, professionally and creatively.
  • Demonstrated ability in facilitating cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment
  • Capable of multi-tasking and adapting in a rapidly changing environment;
  • Ability to prioritize, manage, and execute multiple tasks, define problems, and develop a mean or method to resolve them with limited supervision. 
  • Extensive knowledge of QA tools, such as HPQC or similar tools and methodologies
  • Proficient expertise with the Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Excel, and Vision, and Power Point.

 

Travel Requirements:

  •  May require local travel
  •  May require other travel for business needs

 

Working Arrangements:

  • May require after hours on all support
  • Work is performed in a standard office environment with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards
