The Events Marketing team is seeking a creative, detail-oriented college student with strong communication and organizational skills to assist with various projects related to meetings, tradeshows, and event coordination.


This is an opportunity to gain valuable experience while working on multiple projects involving event planning and logistics, client and prospect communications, promotional activities, collecting and analyzing information, general administrative tasks, and post-event reporting.


This is an excellent opportunity for a college student to learn more about event planning. While this career may seem exciting and fun, there is a lot more that goes on behind the scenes to ensure the success of every event and tradeshow.


This internship will be for 10-12 weeks over Summer 2018 out of our Raleigh, NC office. 


An event planner’s role is two-fold; there is the strategy planning and the logistic plan and execution. It is the responsibility of the planner to understand the goals and objectives of their key stakeholders, and develop a solid strategic plan to guarantee their stakeholders goals are met. Once you have your strategy, a project plan (including all logistics) is developed and the planner begins managing the execution. These plans are intended clearly communicate the intent of the event, deliverables, timelines and the individuals responsible for each. A budget must also be developed to ensure the event is planned efficiently with room for unexpected occurrences.


The intern will assist with a variety of tasks related to events and tradeshows.


These tasks include:

  • the understanding our processes for requesting materials for events, our online tools, industry compliance as (it relates to event communications for events)
  • meeting planning and event logistics, (including food and beverage orders, transportation and lodging details)
  • tradeshow planning and design, social media use (to promote events), and other areas of conferences.




Academic and Professional Qualifications:

  • On track for a Bachelor's degree in Marketing or a related disicipline 
  • 3.0+ GPA preferred 



  • Microsoft Office - specifically Excel
  • High attention to detail
  • Well-organized and able to multi-task
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated
  • Able to take direction

  • None 


Working Arrangements:

  • Work is performed in a standard office environment with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards
