Position Summary:


The Sr. BI Systems Administrator will serve as a key member of the BICC team and will be focused on supporting Business Objects, SAS, and Tableau infrastructure across the enterprise. The candidate will be primarily responsible for installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of the BI shared environment.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Installation, migration, configuration, maintenance, technical support and troubleshooting of Business Objects implementation in a highly active shared environment
  • Standardization and implementation of best practices for the associated BI Tool Sets across the Enterprise
  • Key contributor to BI architecture and capacity planning activities, maintaining company-wide standards and industry best practices
  • Conducts performance tuning and capacity management, including environment baselines and trend analysis over time ensuring enterprise scalability
  • Supports and maintains all BI infrastructure environments, documenting restart/recovery strategies to maintain 24x7 uptime and DR readiness
  • Proactive maintenance of all BI environments including application level monitoring, server/device auditing, log collection and review, and customized alerting
  • Manages the daily execution of workflows and sessions, batch processes, production requests, and scheduled backup jobs
  • Collaboration with technical teams and business users to identify and resolve support issues, escalating where appropriate
  • Operates server and peripheral devices to run production requests and create reports
  • Contribute to coordination and planning of Enterprise BI related activities
  • Ability and eagerness to thrive in a fast paced work environment
  • Provide off-hours and weekend support in an on-call rotation.

  • Ensure the quality of the deliverables as per the defined defects standards
  • Document issues with resolutions and share with team members to improve team productivity.
  • Provide data to generate team performance metrics.
  • Knowledge transfer with other team members to improve overall team education level
  • Take complete ownership for the assigned task and timely inform the progress of the project / task to all stakeholders.
  • Adherence to the defined standards.
  • Take initiative and drives to bring to logical conclusion; proactive approach.
  • Provide accurate and timely information and escalates when there are issues.
  • Actively participate in meetings and make valuable contribution.

Qualifications

Academic and Professional Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of a Bachelor’s Degree preferred and relevant Business Objects Enterprise/BI experience.

 

Experience:

  • 3-5 Years’ Experience with SAP BOE systems administration
  • 3-5 Years’ Experience with SAS systems administration
  • Tableau system administration knowledge a PLUS
  • Crystal Reports experience a PLUS
  • Oracle Database experience preferred
  • Understanding of server operating systems and general knowledge of client/server computing environment technologies
  • Administrator experience in relevant operating systems is desirable (UNIX, Windows)
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of staff and management.
  • Ability to follow and create SOPs
  • Ability to explain technical terms to non-technical individuals.

 

Travel Requirements:

  •  May require local travel
  •  May require other travel for business needs

 

Working Arrangements:

  • Will require on-call hours (rotating schedule).

  • Work is performed in a standard office environment with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards
