As the Senior Performance Test Engineer, your primary responsibilities will be to conduct thorough performance and load testing in order to provide the highest quality healthcare applications software products to both external and internal clients/vendors. This is a full-time onsite role. You will be responsible for the Performance Testing delivery lifecycle, and create, modify and execute performance/load testing scripts using HP Performance Center/LoadRunner. This is a hands on senior performance tester role and candidate will be expected to participate heavily in scripting (not just recording), execution and analysis tasks. The Performance Test Engineer must be familiar with standard software test and quality processes, methodologies, and tools, and must have a track record of very high technical competence and individual accomplishments that includes strong coding and scripting skills.


  • Lead, guide and mentor the Performance Testing Team
  • Creates performance test plans and defines approaches for end-to-end performance.
  • Authors and executes performance tests for several simultaneous application release efforts (being delivered by multiple teams)
  • Responsible for constructing and executing performance test plans authored in HP LoadRunner
  • Collaborates with Project Managers and application/system owners to understand and effectively test the system under test.
  • Performs code inspections and solution reviews to pinpoint the source of performance problems and suggested corrections to be made.
  • Analyze database profiler / AWR reports and identify the performance problems
  • Analyze root causes of performance problems and provide recommendations on improving scalability and performance of services/applications.
  • Automate the execution, result capture and pass/fail determination of performance tests.
  • Participates in project kickoff, and sync up meetings


  • Design, Develop and implement Test Automation Framework using tools such as HP-Quick Test Pro, Selenium to automate the manual testing process
  • Develop solutions for performing automated regression testing, Integration Testing, Data Testing, upstream-downstream Data verification testing and data transformation testing between source and target systems
  • Make modifications & necessary updates to the existing automation framework
  • Fluent in automation tool such as Selenium Web Driver, QTP/UFT
  • Advocate of QA methodologies & practices
  • Refine and maintain suites of automated scripts and modules containing reusable functions.
  • Support testing efforts through automated scripting, framework development, tool configuration and maintenance
  • Generate Automated Dashboard - Management Reports from Quality Center based to provide the performance on Testing Process using Quality Center, SQL, VB Scripting and Excel macros
  • Provide test coverage analysis based on automation results
  • Execute and analyse results of daily/nightly automated test loads
  • Identify defects and assist with classification, tracking, retesting, and resolution as required
  • Execute to daily targets as indicated by test planning
  • Document detailed defects and issues through the test management system
  • Report Quality Center and QTP environment issues to HP Support group, follow-up and track till closure


Academic and Professional Qualifications:

  •  BA or BS degree preferred and/or other relevant combination of training and experience



  •  2-5 years industry experience preferred
  •  5-10 years practical experience preferred
  • Must have minimum 7+ years of experience utilizing HP Performance Center, HP LoadRunner, and performance monitoring tools (Sitescope, HP Diagnostics), Identify key metrics to monitor each tier of the system
  • Must have robust script development skills using best practices (error handling, correlation, parameterization, exception handling, etc.) with Web, RIA, Citrix and ERP protocols
  • Must have minimum 5 years of experience leading end to end project execution of performance testin
  •    Experience in testing both windows and web applications performanc
  •   Experience in Identifying H/W and S/W Needs for setting up Test     Environment
  • Strong experience in VuGen (Virtual User Generator) for generation and editing scripts
  • Strong experience in analysis assembles logs from various load generators and formats reports for visualization of run result data and monitoring data
  • Ability to create SQL queries
  • Good knowledge in at least one Object Oriented Language (C, C++, C#, Java)
  • Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC)
  • Excellent oral and written communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving skills
  • Should be proactive in completing the job assigned with little direction and be adaptable to changing job requirements based upon feedback and new direction
  • Experience with MS Word, Excel and Visio is required


Travel Requirements:

  •  May require local travel
  •  May require other travel for business needs


Working Arrangements:

  • May require after hours on call support
  • Work is performed in a standard office environment with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards
