The primary purpose of this role is to provide technical support for assigned applications. Systems Analyst, Application Integration, will be responsible for maintaining production support for the integration between Soarian and all of the clinical and non-clinical ancillary applications in use throughout Northwell.


  • Understanding of how multiple healthcare applications integrate with each other using HL7 standards.
  • Working knowledge of HL7 message types and segments, particularly ADT and SIU transactions (expertise in HL7 not required)
  • Experience with mass data analysis and mapping.
  • Help facilitate the planning of and execution of an integration model to meet the technical, security, and business requirements.
  • Work within the integration team to design, build, test and maintain integration points to ancillary applications.
  • Work with Testing team for script development to ensure business requirements and technical configurations.
  • Work with other teams to understand the business specific requirements and configurations and translate them to technical design specifications and data flow from which programs are developed and coded
  • Participate in Application workgroups and business functional team meetings to drive decisions that meet both system and workflow requirements.
  • Participate in meetings with enterprise integration team as needed.
  • Participate in other work teams as appropriate.
  • Knowledge transfer with other team members to improve overall team education level
  • Prepare and maintain detailed system and technical documentation.
  • Provide ongoing technical support and guidance.
  • Be part of the 24x7 support of the applications and helping troubleshoot problems when they surface.
  • Assists in supporting activations for application upgrades and maintenance activities
  • Research requested changes to ensure feasibility (e.g., confers with experts).
  • Excellent Communication skills and ability to work closely with clients
  • Take initiative and drives to bring to logical conclusion; proactive approach
  • Take complete ownership for the assigned task and inform the progress of the task with the stakeholders.
  • Provide production support
  • Participate in focus groups and workshops, attend vendor training and demonstrations. 
  • Strong focus on customer service
  • Other responsibilities as needed.

  • Adherence to the defined standards.
  • Take initiative and drives to bring to logical conclusion; proactive approach.
  • Provide accurate and timely information and escalates when there are issues.
  • Actively participate in meetings and make valuable contribution.
  • Provide production support for application issues.
  • Identify, coordinate and communicate issues, requirements and status related to application functionality with other team members and software vendors.
  • Ensure the quality of the deliverables as per the defined defects standards and excelling within that.


Academic and Professional Qualifications:

  • BA or BS degree preferred or other relevant combination of training and experience.



  • 2-5 years practical experience in providing technical support and maintenance in assigned product or equivalent preferred
  • Industry experience preferred
  • Strong Microsoft suite knowledge ( Word, Excel, Project and Power Point)


Travel Requirements:

  •  May require local travel between Northwell sites and practices.
  •  May require other travel for business needs


Working Arrangements:

  • May require after hours on call support
  • Work is performed in a standard office environment with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards
