The primary purpose of this role is to provide support for implementation and maintenance of all IT initiatives with clinical applications as requested by the management and systems across Cardiovascular Service Lines. Responsibilities may incorporate administration and support of other ancillary systems.  Trouble-shooting, handle upgrades, configurations etc. Cardiology experience highly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Leads clinical requirements development
  • Applies clinical knowledge to integrate clinical practice and technology into clinical workflows that support safe and efficient patient care.
  • Serves as a skilled clinical resource in support of non-clinical team members
  • Acts as a liaison between end users, clinicians and non-clinical analysts.
  • Work under the direction of the Manager to provide clinical application solutions for assigned business areas.
  • Identify the common causes of the defects, prioritize them and systematically remove them so that they do not reoccur in further development work.
  • Participate in focus groups and workshops, attend vendor training and demonstrations.
  • Possess technical knowledge of assigned clinical application technology.
  • Work with Clinical Business Analyst to understand the customer’s product-specific requirements and configuration and translate them to technical design specifications and data flow from which programs are developed and coded.
  • Codes, tests, debugs, implements, and documents programs or technical configuration.
  • Ensure clinical programs meet technical specifications and standards.
  • Interact with Clinical Business Analysts during the software build or configuration and testing process.
  • Perform technical application configuration and configure /run reports at user request.
  • Design and execute unit, system and integration test plans for new developments/releases/reports.
  • Maintain technical documentation based on standard operating procedures in support of the assigned clinical application.
  • Perform application maintenance activities
  • Provide production support.
  • Interface with Clinical Business Analyst to assist in resolving support calls escalated by the Service Desk.
  • Responsible for the daily operations of all IT Cardiovascular Service Line Systems
  • Provides technical support for Cardiovascular projects; creates and maintains project plans for assigned activities, including establishing clear timelines for completion of projects.
  • Coordinates all updates and upgrades to the systems and makes recommendations for vendor, staff and Health Quest resources needed to ensure successful implementation.
  • Provides testing support to ensure software and hardware enhancements are implemented and operate reliability. Tests updates to system functionality and certifies that the basic design performs as expected and that the changes caused by the update do not negatively impact the system.
  • Provides technical support for Cardiovascular projects; creates and maintains project plans for assigned activities, including establishing clear timelines for completion of projects.
  • Creates and maintains technical specifications and test plans. Provides time and cost estimates and makes recommendations to others based upon analysis
  • Maintains records of systems and their changes or upgrades.
  • Supports Information Technology knowledge management through documenting, maintaining, and improving system standards, processes and practices in assigned areas and assisting others to do so.
  • Contributes to performance improvement programs to enhance and sustain system and application reliability, availability, stability and integrity in assigned area in support of overall departmental performance improvement goals.
  • Provides customer focused performance and promotes customer satisfaction through professional and courteous interactions with customers, vendors and staff.
  • Provides support and maintenance in assigned area by responding to service requests and events logged in departmental problem management and reporting system, maintaining contact with customers as required.

Qualifications

Qualifications

Academic and Professional Qualifications:

  •  BA or BS degree preferred or other relevant combination of training and experience.Clinical Degree, certification, and/or License required

Experience:

  •  0-2 years Industry experience preferred
  •  2-5 years practical experience in providing technical support and maintenance in assigned product preferred

 

Travel Requirements:

  •  May require local travel
  •  May require other travel for business needs
